What exactly is currently possible with VR, MR and AR? Where’s the money in these? Where can XR technologies take us in the future? Future Female and New Things Co are organizing an informative but relaxed mini-meetup at the new office of New Things Co to discuss how these technologies are changing the way we communicate, consume and learn new things. Besides some networking, snacks and drinks, we’ll hear Krista Jäntti from Varjo talk about socializing and shopping in extended realities and Eeva Jäntti from Arilyn will give an account of recent AR campaigns as well as shed light on what the future of AR content production holds.

Laura Vuorenoja, New Things Co.
Laura is a full stack developer at New Things Co. She has a over 10 years of background working as a software developer in different product and consulting companies and has developed software from embedded systems to large web services. Recently she has been working with a startup company SaaS-service. Laura likes new things in general, but especially when they are related to coding and creating software.
Krista Jäntti, Varjo
Krista Jäntti is Lead UX Designer at Varjo. Varjo makes revolutionary VR/XR hardware and software that together are jumpstarting a new era in immersive computing – where real and virtual worlds merge seamlessly in human-eye resolution. Krista is currently researching how VR and XR technologies are changing the future of work, design and social connectivity. What kind of workplace will virtual reality be like?
Before joining Varjo, Krista worked in IT consulting for over 15 years. She has developed and designed digital products from the perspective of the end user and stakeholders for nearly all major Finnish companies. She loves exploring future technologies such as VR/XR in order to think of new ways of interacting and designing things that no one else has done before.
Eeva Jäntti, Arilyn
Eeva Jäntti is an accomplished producer with over ten years of experience in TV commercial and prime time TV entertainment production. The last couple of years Eeva has been with Arilyn, the leading Nordic AR company. Execution numerous AR productions for wide range of industries has given her a solid understanding of how to create successful AR experiences.
