We are introducing you to inspiring women on our network and share their stories. Maybe they can become your role models and lower the barrier to connect online and offline, especially when you meet in our meetups.

Where do you work? Chocolate Angel Oy

What is your title? Chocolate Angel, CEO and Founder

What is your story, your background?

After more than 17 years in large Technology companies like Nokia and Microsoft I realized that my most needed skill set is to make people smile. In 2012 I had the opportunity to move from Germany to Finland and ever since I claim I’m the happiest German living in Finland.

Three years ago I turned my habit of approaching everyone in the office with a smile and a box of chocolate into a proper service. It is quite amazing to see what kind of reactions you get when you add a simple and positive, yet impactful gesture in your day to day work life.

It is possible to book a visit of the Chocolate Angel to the office, conferences or workshops. There is a lot more to figure out about me and my habit, but before I write a long essay, feel free to take me up on my offer to have a coffee chat. Or approach me at a FutureFemale event to talk further.

Is technology part of you work? Surprisingly, the answer is yes. About a year ago I decided to move my knowledge and all needed information about every possible chocolate and candy in my box into a Database. So I used my IT background, found a cloud service which enables you to create a customized database. I have now on my phone online access to all needed information, up to 30 data points per chocolate. For example if you ask me for a gluten free option from my box, technology finds the answer.

Besides of my current work, I used to work in IT for the last 15 years, I was always very curious about the latest technology, where ever I had an opportunity to use it as well as to ensure it is used to the fullest potential. And to identify and address all flaws I noticed using technology.

Your biggest challenge at the moment at work or in self-development?

To find the right balance between my total lack of focus, the passion which drives me and the best way to achieve what I want with the abilities I have.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Still changing the world with contagious smiles and a box full of chocolate

What Future Female network has given you? Or what would you like it to give you?

I love the broad scale of presentations, opening my eyes to all kind of different new areas, and beyond it is obviously meeting amazing women, sometimes enables me to reconnect or make new connections.

What is the best and the most important quality in your professional persona from your point of view?

My ability to positively approach and connect with every single person I meet, regardless of their background and position in life.

Quote that inspires you the most?

“The most wasted day of all is that in which we have not laughed.”
Nicolas Chamfort, 1790’s

Last but not least – name one woman who you admire and why?

Rita Mae Brown, her amazing books introduced me to a lot of really strong female characters. And I can love cats and dogs through her books, as in real life, I’m allergic to them.
