Every two weeks we are introducing you to inspiring women on our network and share their stories. Maybe they can become your role models and lower the barrier to connect online and offline, especially when you meet in our meetups.
Where do you work, study or are you looking for job?
I’m working at a technology company Frantic, where we develop digital business and customer experience. I’m leading our content competence as well as working as a team lead and strategist at one of our global clients.
What is your title?
I’m strategist & content lead.
What is your story, your background?
I’ve always been interested in people, what they think, how they work, why they do the things they do, so ended up studying political history. I’m also interested in how we as humans communicate, and how we could be working, leading, being at our best. For some reason, I started my career in a digital agency and after that I’ve always had something to do with digital things and technology. (So a historian who thought that she would be a journalist became a digital designer and doer.)
Is technology part of you work? If yes, can you describe how?
Yes! I design digital experiences, so technology is an important enabler.
Your biggest challenge at the moment at work or in self-development?
What will I be when I grow up? I’m grateful that I’ve been mostly doing things that I loved and get existed. But when I think that I might still have 30 years at work ahead of me, I think it’s quite important to understand that we can never stop learning.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I’m sure that I’m definitely working with technology and people.
What Future Female network has given you? Or what would you like it to give you?
Many different perspectives and thoughts. I think it’s a great way to visit interesting companies and get to know new, exciting people.
What is the best and the most important quality in your professional persona from your point of view?
Continuous learning and curiosity. And I think the ability to work with different people is important, so I try to continuously develop that.
Quote that inspires you the most?
At the moment it is: “Well planned is still completely undone.” (And also: “The limits of my words are the limits of my world.”)
Last but not least – name one woman who you admire and why?
This question was the hardest one! There’s many from politicians to businesswomen, but I have to say, Tove Jansson. For me, she represents freedom and the courage to do things despite what people might think. And her imagination is incomprehensible.
If you want, we can add your linkedin profile to your interview. Also if you would like to network, mentor or have coffee with your fellow Future females we can add a tap (or something, what?) that you are free to change thoughts or grab a coffee.
My LinkedIn is https://www.linkedin.com/in/laurahinkkanen/ , I’d be happy to network and change thoughts.
