Every two weeks we are introducing you to inspiring women on our network and share their stories. Maybe they can become your role models and lower the barrier to connect online and offline, especially when you meet in our meetups.

Your name? Anneli Nylund

Where do you work?
I work at Capgemini.

What is your title?
Applications consultant. I work with application development and maintenance of SAP HR systems. My team is geographically dispersed and about half of my colleagues are women.

What is your story, your background?
I have studied management and communications in Finland and abroad. This is my first job after graduation. I started in a graduate program at Capgemini a couple of years back and have learned the technical skills on the job.

Is technology part of you work?
Yes it is, my role is that of a functional consultant. I do for instance system configuration, testing and trouble shooting. I do not code, but I tell the coders what to do 😊

Your biggest challenge at the moment at work or in self-development?
Complex technical problems that require a lot of testing to be solved. Luckily, we can solve those issues together with senior colleagues.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I hope to have a more versatile role where I can make use of my business background and work with strategic projects. At some point it would also be interesting to work abroad.

Later this spring I will start as a Management consultant in KPMG’s IT advisory team.

What has the Future Female network given you? Or what would you like it to give you?
It has given me the chance to meet interesting people from different organizations. In addition, it has been stimulating to hear and learn about new topics from a very versatile group of professionals at the events.

I would like Future Female to offer me an even bigger and stronger network in the future.

Quote that inspires you the most?
“Do or do not, there is no try.”
This picture is my mobile phone background pic, so I look at it often!

Last but not least – name one woman who you admire and why?
My landlady who is also my neighbor, she is almost 50 years older than me! She is a very inspiring and energetic lady, and she inspires me by telling stories of her intriguing life.
